The client contacted our HazMat department with the request to assist with compliance to EU Ship recycling regulation for some of their vessels. Thought the vessels were rather new, they still had to be complying to latest requirements and therefore needed to be inspected and IHM Part I issue for further approval of RO. The shipboard documentation has been examined, which save the time for on board inspection and reduced the costs related to sample testing, allowing the documents to be used for conclusions. At the same time, the Hazmat expert interacted with vessel crew and provided some valuable insights on the IHM maintenance and interpretation of IHM requirements.
